WATER REGULATIONS FOR 2010
The following water conservation measures, and are in effect, unless otherwise directed by Trustees:

Residential / Commercial
Customers:
• Automatically controlled underground sprinkling systems for use by residential, commercial and non-agricultural properties may only operate between the hours of 12:00am (midnight) to 6:00am on the days permitted by the sprinkling hours as described herein within this Section and throughout the year.

• Above Ground Sprinkling is only permitted from 12:00am (midnight) to 11:00am, and from 6:00pm to 12:00am (midnight); and as follows:

(i) EVEN-numbered houses shall water on even numbered calendar days, and;
(ii) ODD-numbered houses shall water on odd numbered calendar days.

• Residential, commercial, and other non-agricultural connections are allotted up to 38 lpm (10 usgpm).
• Exceptions to these Even/Odd day regulations include drip-irrigation systems, farms, and properties that are more than 0.3 ha (0.65 acres) in size.


Prohibitions To All Customers:
• Only one (1) outside tap is permitted for above ground sprinkling for residential, commercial, and other non-agricultural properties with the exception of properties that are greater than 0.3 ha (0.65 acres).
• No person shall waste water by using more water than is required to provide a service, produce a product or complete a task, including but not limited to:
(i) allowing a tap or hose to run water unnecessarily;
(ii) the over-watering of plants or lawns;
(iii) use of an unattended open pipe or hose for sprinkling purposes;
(iv) allowing the deterioration of any appliance;
(v) allowing water outside of property, either pooling or running onto adjacent lands such as roadways, sidewalks, and driveways.
• No person shall damage or allow the deterioration of any appliance so as to result in a waste of water.


Agricultural Customers:
• Each agricultural connection is allotted up to 70 lpm (6.2 igpm/acre) at one time for every hectare of land taxed for irrigation purposes.
• No watering is permitted outside of property (i.e. roadways, sidewalks, boulevards etc. Ensure that water is not pooling or running onto adjacent lands).
• Lawns are not considered part of agricultural areas and should follow the regulations as per residential customers.


Enforcement:

The District will be actively enforcing our Bylaws. Failure to comply with the above regulations will result in a loss of service. In addition, a $50.00 turn off charge and a $50.00 turn on charge will be levied prior to the service being reinstated.
